2009 SDRM Report Shows Sustained, Rapid Growth in Use

The following slideshow presents statistics for the Secure Data Release Model (SDRM) for the year ending December 31, 2009. The report was presented at a recent Spring 2010 meeting of the NASTF board of directors.

 

 

Since then, growth in SDRM registrants and queries have continued to increase. As of April 30, 2010, there are 500 companies that have applied and been accepted to the Secure Data Release Model (SDRM) Registry. Of those, 373 are automotive service/repair facilities or locksmiths, 115 are aftermarket suppliers and 12 are automakers. There are currently a total of 640 LSID holders - 12 manufacturers, 500 primary, and 128 subordinate account holders.


The following slideshow presents statistics for the Secure Data Release Model (SDRM) for the year ending December 31, 2009. The report was presented at a recent Spring 2010 meeting of the NASTF board of directors.
By the end of 2009, 440 companies applied and were approved to use the SDRM. Of these, 330 are automotive service/repair facilities or locksmiths, 98 are aftermarket suppliers and 12 are automakers.
The SDRM has account holders in nearly every state, territory and protectorate if the U.S.
2010 is the first year that SDRM accounts will be eligible for renewal.
Only a small percentage of queries through the SDRM fail, due mostly to forgotten login IDs or passwords.
In 2008, the first year of the SDRM's operation, monthly queries grew rapidly.
In 2009, monthly queries continued to grow as the use of the SDRM became more entrenched.
Once released, awareness of the SDRM began to reflect itself in average daily queries.
Average daily queries continued to show remarkable growth in 2009.
Improper logins account for most failures, followed by system timeouts or improper attempts to access manufacturer websites.
The SDRM has experienced a ten-fold increase in average daily queries since its release.
SDRM transactions more than tripled in 2009, compared to 2008.
